What I do

In my current role as Public Programs Manager at Native Arts + Cultures Foundation, I serve as a cultural event curator and I am responsible for planning and executing events that elevate Native artists and organizations across the United States, that celebrate culture bearers, honor tradition, and foster community connections.

I work on a variety of events, including multimedia festivals, art exhibitions and installations, educational workshops, civic panel discussions, and curating live music and dance performances for programs that highlight local Portland activations and national programming throughout the calendar year.

Some responsibilities of my role include:

  • Conceptualizing events: Creating events that resonate with diverse audiences of all ages

  • Planning logistics: Methodically planning the logistics of the event and staffing

  • Curating programming: Curating engaging programming in support of our theater season through partnerships with local organizations and subject matter experts

  • Promoting the event: Promoting the event effectively in collaboration with our Marketing and social media teams

  • Managing vendors, performers, and attendees: Ensuring smooth execution on the day of the event by managing vendors, performers, and attendees
